GALLOPALOOZA, 2024

Jessica Chao was chosen to paint a life-size fiberglass horse statue in honor of Kentucky Derby's 150th anniversary. Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell sponsored Jessica to feature a horse named Common Dignity at the intersection between Taylor Blvd. and Southgate Ave, near Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. Common Dignity is patterned with multiple textile-like patterns borrowed from several cultures to represent the diverse neighborhoods that surround Churchill Downs.

A miniature exact replica of Common Dignity is on display at City Hall, Downtown Louisville, KY.
